Siddarth Raman is a Mumbai-based management consultant with experience in driving projects in infrastructure and technology, with a client mix of Indian conglomerates and multinationals, focused on the Indian market. He was formerly employed at Bain & Co, where he worked on multiple projects spanning strategy, investment allocation, cost optimization and market entry. He was the lead on the Bain India Philanthropy Report 2017. He quit Bain & Co in March 2020 and joined the municipal corporation of the city of Mumbai (BMC) in their efforts to manage the COVID-19 pandemic. He set up their data management systems across a diverse set of stakeholders –bureaucrats, public health officials, on-ground field force, testing labs, and hospitals and helped establish the processes and SOPs used by the BMC, which still continue today. In the last two years, Siddarth has been a freelancer working with different consulting firms on market research, non-profit strategy, climate change studies, and process re-engineering. Siddarth holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) where he was a representative on the student council and was responsible for managing the media engagement on behalf of the student body. Prior to his MBA, he was an Advocacy Associate with Janaagraha, a Bangalore-based NGO focused on bettering urban governance. He holds a B. Eng in Electronics and Instrumentation from the Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, where he graduated with honors. He was a software developer for a while before he developed a passion for solving social problems over technical ones. Siddarth has a keen interest in public policy and current affairs and enjoys reading speculative fiction.
